[ She honestly isn't sure what Serph's letter means-- and she knows it's from him, she'd know that symbol anywhere.

She's also not exactly sure she wants to enlist help figuring out what he's trying to tell her, but Serph is just like her: he wouldn't go through the trouble of doing something if it wasn't important.

So Fie squares her shoulders, wraps her scarf around her neck because that is currently the warmest thing she owns in her short shorts, and goes to possibly regret some things. Besides the weather. ]

... We've got two robot summoners, a musician, a noble and a commoner who fight each other a lot but probably should just make out, a guy who loves the wind, a girl with a combat maid, a witch, and a girl obsessed with swordsmanship. Our teacher drinks a lot and tries to get us to make terrible life choices.

[zerotohiro]

...a neatfreak who's like the size of a giant and created a laser that could disintegrate an entire person, a scary biker chick who's actually pretty cool and can't go fast enough, a girl who looks like she belongs in a fashion magazine instead of a lab and can create complex chemical combinations on the fly, and a guy who wanted to be a giant fire-breathing lizard instead of getting a degree.

Oh. And a nursebot that is more concerned with my emotional well-being and chases butterflies while still capable of destroying anything with a punch.

Why do we know so many weird people...?

Dunno. Probably because we're so normal.

[ no you're not. That sure is a friend group, though. ]

You fought monsters and blew up a door. [So no. He's calling her out on that lack of normal? Hiro, meanwhile, is perfectly normal. Obviously. Of course.]

Blowing up a door is only natural when you can't unlock it. And everyone has to deal with monsters.

[zerotohiro]

False. Wasabi cut open our locked door and I haven't had to deal with monsters yet. [Even though they were in the concept art? Disney when am I getting kaiju action wtf. It occurs to him that maybe she means everyone from her world, but still.]

Everyone back in Zemuria, anyway. And I'm not good enough to slice open a door.

[ gosh. ]

To be fair, Wasabi had a laser glove we made him. So that helped.

So..Zemuria's a world? Or a city? [He's nosy ok.] There are some people who're from Earth like I am but they've never heard of my city, so it's always weird to think about.

It's a continent. I've been traveling all over Erebonia, the Empire, lately. But there are places I still haven't heard of either, so maybe that's the case with your city.

[zerotohiro]

Never heard of those places either, but guess it's something to look up when I get back. [He finally tips over to lay over the trunk, staring at her upside-down.]

San Fransokyo's home. Newt's from Earth, too, but he argued a little about if it was even real. But what you're doing sounds way cooler than the field trips I've ever been on.

... I wouldn't get too excited. The only reason I was traveling was because we were all separated when one of our classmates betrayed us and our school came under attack.

[ San Fransokyo... she takes note of the name, but it's not a very familiar-sounding one. A beat, then, as she looks at him sprawled on the trunk. ]

Is that comfy?

[zerotohiro]

...all right, I take that back. I'll stick to my actual field trips and everything. I've had enough people betray me as it is. [One was definitely enough. He shifts a little, the hood of his sweater falling off a little before he tries to shrug.]

The trunk isn't exactly soft, so no. But it's not bad to stretch out? Warm up my limbs a little.

I think one betrayal is more than enough. [ she agrees with the sentiment, but she also scoots a little on the bed to give the spot beside her a pat.

Also giving Hiro a pointed stare, because there's a bed right here. ]

[zerotohiro]

And here we are five weeks in with a whole bunch of betrayals behind us. [He notices that she's moving, and he tilts his head a little.

...right. That's fair. He'll just get up and shuffle back toward the bed and settle next to her before flopping on his back to stare at the ceiling. His feet are dangling off of the floor, but he seems comfortable that way, too.]

Sometimes I wish I knew a way to make this whole thing less depressing, too.

... Me too. But like you said... all we can really do is move forward.

[zerotohiro]

Or we can not move until the snow stops. That sounds like a better idea. After the sun comes back then we can talk about moving forward.

[He's mostly chattering to distract her and distract himself from the horrible situation. Is it working? Who knows.] Maybe instead of a murder, investigation and trial we should just rally for a snowball fight or something.

[ well, she's tired and wrapped in sheets, she'll doze sooner or later if he keeps chattering. ]

That'd be nice, but I think we're pretty much stuck with it. If you're telling me to sleep over tonight, though...

[ Fie, he didn't say that. ]

I...guess? If you want. Going back outside to your own hut seems stupid especially since it's getting late.

... I'd have to at least go back and bring the dog with me.

[ she's not leaving him alone, the poor thing. ]

Dogs have fur. [Which sounds like a stupid statement but he means more in that dogs are warm and it's not a bad idea.] I could go get him, too, if you think he'd come with me. I'm still dressed warmer than you are.

[Seriously what's up with the shorts. Your scarf does nothing, Fie.]

I'm not sure if he would.

... It's fine, I'll be fast.

[ seriously. She's not called Sylphid for nothing. ]

You promise? [Look he doesn't know that? Let him live.]

[ Hiro do you think she's going to die on her way to the hut and back it's Wednesday ]

Cool...whenever you're ready then. And I'll let Yona know you're crashing with us.

[ and off she goes, shedding bed sheets.

... She will return in about fifteen minutes, covered completely in snow with an equally snowy dog in tow, at least. ]
